Urban Decay Make-up Setting Spray

A few weeks ago, I purchased the Urban Decay Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray and I LOVED IT!!! Thanks to my Instagram Friend, The Dress Junkie, for recommending this product.

I wear make-up quite often, so I decided to give this product a try  to see if it really worked....and...IT DID!!!  I used the setting spray prior to going out one evening, and at the end of the night my make-up was still flawless and my skin wasn't oily.  I was expecting the spray to be a little heavy, but it was very light and didn't clog my pores.  Because I like this setting spray so much, I decided to add it to my morning make-up routine.  I use it prior to applying my foundation and after I finish beating my face.

Although the setting spray is a little pricey, it’s well worth it! Especially if you wear make-up a lot and you find yourself having to do touch-ups frequently. I also found that you don't have to use a lot.  2-4 sprays will go a long way.  You can purchase The Oil Control Make-up Setting Spray and other Urban Decay products from Sephora, Ulta or go to www.urbandecay.com

O.P.I.: New Years Red-Solution

Now that Fall and Winter are upon us, I decided to look for a darker polish to wear on my nails and toes, (Yes, you should keep your feet looking nice in the winter too), and New Years Red-Solution by O.P.I was the perfect color for me. This metallic, deep red color goes on smoothly and wears very well.  It's also  a great color for the Holiday Season.

Since O.P.I. is one of my favorite nail polish brands, when I saw this color on sale for $3, at Sephora, I had to purchase it!  This polish usually costs $10 a bottle, so this was a nice savings for me.

Too Faced: The Naked Look

Over the summer, I won a contest hosted by Pretty Domestic Blog Site, (please follow on Twitter @1PrettyDomestic),  and the prize for the contest was a Too Faced "The Naked Look" Make-up Compact.  The compact included, two eye shadows, a blush and two lip glosses made of warm browns and neutral colors.  The colors aren't too overpowering and they give your face a nice beauty enhancement.   Every once and a while it's good for a Doll to tone it down a little.

Too Faced make-up was definitely a change of pace for me.  I'm one for color, and the Naked Look line is exactly what it's called, a Naked Look.  The first time I tried it, I found myself putting a lot on, but after I took a step back from the mirror, I realized I didn't need a lot.  The eye shadow and blush goes on very smooth and has a slight sparkle to it and the lip gloss is creamy and glides on nice and easy.  Since the lip gloss is a little light, I use it in conjunction with another lip color.  I now use my Too Faced make-up for when I go to work or when I just want that "Natural" look.

If you're looking for more toned-down colors, Too Faced is the product for you.  Too Faced can be purchased at  Sephora and Ulta.

Keeping Your Make-up Looking Fresh

Are you trying to figure out how to keep your make-up looking fresh all day/night without having to do touch-ups frequently?  Well, thanks to my Instagram Friend, The Dress Junkie, I'm now a fan of the Urban Decay Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray.  I absolutely LOVE this product!  The setting spray is very lightweight and it doesn’t feel like it’s clogging my pores.  I spray it on prior to putting on my foundation and again after I finish my make-up.  2-4 sprays are all you need and your make-up will be set for the rest of the day/evening.  I used this spray for the first time 2 weeks ago, for date night, and my make-up stayed flawless for several hours.  Not only did my make-up look good, but towards the end of the night, my skin didn't look oily.  If you wear make-up a lot and you find yourself having to do touch-ups frequently, try this product.  The Urban Decay Oil Control Make-up Setting Spray can be purchased at SephoraUlta or www.urbandecay.com.

Sephora Glossy Gloss Lip Gloss

A Doll can never have too many lip gloss colors!! So on that note, let me tell you about Sephora's Glossy Gloss - Galore Lip Gloss.  This is another lip gloss that has a lot of shimmer to it.  It also keeps your lips moisturized and stays on for a long time.  I definitely CANNOT forget to mention how affordable it is.

A few weeks ago, I purchased the "Sparks Fly Mauve" color off the clearance shelf for only $7!!!  Now, this Doll lives for a great sale and the clearance rack.  Compared to the amount I've spent on other lip gloss brands, this was a HUGE savings.  For $7, I can have an entire rainbow of colors.  I may just have to visit Sephora again, to stock up on Christmas presents for some of my family members and friends.

Clumps of Mascara

How many tubes of Mascara have you been through trying to find the right one that doesn't give you "Spider Eyes"?  I've been through quite a few.  Recently I tried L'OREAL's Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara and it gave my lashes great definition without the clumping.  The picture on the right is a before and after shot of my lashes.  With this product, I can now have full looking lashes everyday.  You can purchase L'oreal's Mascara from Walmart, Walgreens, CVS and other beauty stores.

Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss

Yesterday I did a little retail therapy at Sephora and I decided to try the Yves Saint Laurent Cosmetics.  The one product that caught my eye was their Golden Gloss.  This lip gloss has 24 karat gold flakes in it that helps give your lips more shimmer.  Your kisses will definitely be golden when you wear this.  After playing around for about 30 minutes, I finally decided on a color; Golden Satin No. 30. I wore it today for the first time and I absolutely loved it!!  It moisturized my lips and had them shimmering "at the same time!".   If you're searching for a new lip gloss, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed.

Lola by Marc Jacobs

This month's fragrance is "Lola" by Marc Jacobs.  Lola is a sexy, sultry and sensuous perfume that will have many saying "Hmmmmmm" when you walk by.  Lola's tones are floral, warm, long lasting, and great for the fall.  Let me not forget how pretty the bottle is.  If you're looking for a nice fragrance that will last all day, and even raise a few eyebrows when you walk by, Lola is the one!

Clinique Eye Serum

Clinique’s All About Eyes Serum (De-Puffing Eye Massage) is another beauty item that this Doll likes to use.  I received a sample of the Eye Serum a few months ago and when I first used it, it gave the soft tissue under my eyes such a refreshing feeling.  If you're starting to notice dark circles under your eyes or if they seem to be puffy, this under eye serum is great to have in your beauty bag.  I have since purchased the regular size eye serum and I use it twice a day.  To get more of a cooling sensation, I put the serum in the freezer for a few minutes prior to using it.  Try it once and you’ll love how it feels.

A Doll should not walk around looking like they just got into a fight with Laila Ali; therefore, use this product to reduce that puffiness.

A Doll's Skin Care Regimen

The key to every Doll having great looking skin is a good skin care regimen that you do twice a day; in the morning and in the evening prior to going to bed.  A good skin care regimen should consist of the following:
  1. A Cleanser that your skin responds well to
  2. An Exfoliation Solution to remove dead skin cells, which can dull your complexion
  3. A Toner, which is optional, to remove any extra dirt, oil or make-up.  If you have a good cleanser, you don’t need to use a toner.
  4. A Moisturizer to help restore the moisture in the skin.  If you have dry skin, you should invest in a basic moisturizer.
I’ve been using ProActiv for almost six (6) years and it has done wonders for my skin.  ProActiv has been the only skin care solution that has been able to keep my acne and blemishes under control.  I was a little leery at first, due to the many infomercials, but after talking to one of my co-workers, I decided to give it a try and I must say, this was one of the best leaps of faith I did.  You can either purchase this product from a kiosk at the mall or you can order it online at www.proactiv.com.  The ProActiv skin care cleansing system comes with:
  1. The Renewing Cleanser which is a cleanser and exfoliation solution
  2. Revitalizing Toner
  3. Repairing Treatment Moisturizer
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has acne prone skin and is looking for a product that will help minimize acne and the blemishes that it cause.  If this is not the system for you, try to find something that will work well with your skin.

Remember every Doll needs  good skin!

A Doll & Her Make-Up

A Doll & Her Make-Up
Welcome to my little piece of cyberspace where this Doll will talk about all things related to beauty!  Let me start off by saying that I am NOT a Make-Up Artist; however, I am a girl who loves Make-up and all things that make me feel glamorous.  I love trying new products and testing to see if they really work.  In this blog, I will talk about my favorite beauty products and skincare items that I keep in my cosmetic case.

Many of you may ask, why I decided to use the term Doll?  Well, after much thought and the use of Google, I stumbled upon the meaning of the term Doll, and this is what is says: to dress someone or oneself smartly and attractively; a sweet or delightful person; pretty girl or woman.  This is exactly what I wanted to portray in this blog.  A young lady who’s sweet and delightful and who has a fetish for all things that make her feel All Dolled Up!
Please feel free to follow my blog and comment on my posts!
